New HBO Documentary about Special Needs!
June 18, 2013
Hey everyone,
Next week HBO is premiering a new documentary called, “Miss You Can Do It”. It is premiering on June 24th at 9pm. The documentary is following a pageant started in 2004 by Abby Curran. Abby has cerebral palsy and represented Iowa in the Ms. USA pageant in 2008. She started the Miss You Can Do it pageant. The Miss You Can Do It pageant brings together girls with metal and physical disabilities to celebrate what is in their hearts versus how they look. Abby Curran posted this on the pageants website:
“I was born with Cerebral Palsy, a condition that could have meant a life of difficulties and obstacles, but that is not the case. I am living proof that reaching for the stars can make all the difference in the world. I created this magical event as a stepping stone for girls and women with special needs and challenges, so that they too can realize, if you truly believe in yourself, ANY DREAM CAN COME TRUE! And they will leave this pageant with an abundance of self confidence that will live far past this magical evening.”
What an amazing story and idea. Hope you guys will watch! I know I will be. If you’re looking for more information on the pageant the website is : http://www.missyoucandoit.com/index.htm
