Long Island Speech Is Home of The Spot Pal®!

Long Island Speech's owner created the world's first patented tongue training device, which is designed to teach proper tongue resting posture to:

  • Maximize airway space, promoting more restful sleep.
  • Align the maxilla and mandible to support optimal facial structure.
  • Reduce symptoms associated with temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ/TMD).
  • Emphasize nasal and diaphragmatic breathing to enhance overall speech fluency and address voice disorders.
  • Improve athletic performance by supporting optimal breathing and posture.
  • Help limit symptoms related to paradoxical vocal cord disorders.
  • Habituate and correct tongue placement to facilitate accurate speech sound production.
  • Eliminate noxious oral habits.
  • Prevent tongue thrusting and its impact on the teeth and hard palate.
The Spot Dot and tongue pokes, our own trademarked and patented technology, provides a tactile reminder of where the tongue should rest while the tongue pokes deter the tongue from pushing forward against or between the teeth. Designed to facilitate success and expedite progress, especially when used in conjunction with LI Speech's own Spot Pal therapy programs for the treatment of speech, voice, fluency, feeding, oral motor and oromyofunctional disorders, or when used in conjunction with myofunctional therapy. Long Island Speech patients receive exclusive discounts on all Spot Pal products if being used in conjunction with therapy or as a retention device. Please inquire for more information.

How it works

How Spot Pal Helps With Your Speech Goals

Speech Pal (a variation of Spot Pal) is designed to include all of the attributes of a Spot Pal but includes even more features to facilitate speech sound production.
  • Spot Pal users can utilize their Spot Pal during myofunctional therapy to support habituation of proper lingual resting posture at rest, when swallowing, and when speaking during therapy or during home practice, as well as passively at home or in school.
  • Acts as a constant reminder and allows for passive and constant intervention outside of therapy or home practice, which accelerates the retention of neuromuscular patterns and motor plans.
  • Accelerate your therapy goals with Speech Pal — click here to see how it works.
