meet Janine Stiene
MA, CCC-SLP, TSHH
Janine Stiene, MA, CCC-SLP, TSHH is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicap, and trained Myofunctional Therapist with over 24 years of experience in the state of New York. Her postgraduate coursework is equivalent to a doctorate, excluding the dissertation.
Janine earned her undergraduate degree from Loyola University and received her Master’s in Speech Pathology from Hofstra University. She began her career as a Clinical Fellow at Maryhaven Center of Hope, while simultaneously working part-time in the Cold Spring Harbor Central School District. She later accepted a full-time role as an SLP in the Hauppauge School District.
In 2004, Janine took a bold step and purchased a small, privately owned speech-language practice. Originally established in 1974, the practice has seen tremendous growth under her leadership. Today, Long Island Speech operates nine locations across Nassau and Suffolk County. It has become the largest privately owned, insurance-based speech pathology practice on the East Coast—and the leading myofunctional therapy provider in the United States. Janine's highly trained team of 65+ therapists provides over 1,700 sessions each week across 9 locations — and that number continues to grow.
Beyond her clinical work, Janine is also a podcast host. She leads Why-O-Myo and co-hosts Talk the Talk, two platforms dedicated to educating professionals and families on speech and myofunctional health. Additionally, she is the Founder and CEO of Spot Pal, an innovative and patented tongue training device that promotes proper lingual resting posture and helps eliminate tongue thrust and harmful oral habits such as thumb/finger sucking, tongue sucking, and nail-biting. Spot Pal’s success led to the development of Sport Pal, Speech Pal, and other variations to meet diverse clinical needs.
Janine’s passion, leadership, and innovation continue to shape the future of speech-language pathology and myofunctional therapy.
