Janine Stiene
Janine Stiene (MA, CCC-SLP, TSHH), is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicap and trained Myofunctional Therapist with over 24 years of experience in the state of New York. Janine’s coursework beyond her MA is comparable to her doctorate without a dissertation. Janine received her undergraduate degree from Loyola University and graduated with her MA in Speech Pathology from Hofstra University. She began her career working as a Clinical Fellow at Maryhaven Center of Hope, while also working part-time at Cold Spring Harbor Central School District. Soon after, Janine obtained a full-time position as an SLP at Hauppauge School District.
In 2004, Janine was presented with an amazing business opportunity and bought a small privately-owned speech practice. Nineteen years later, Janine has grown her company with nine locations throughout Nassau and Suffolk County. Long Island Speech is the largest privately-owned insurance-based speech pathology practice on the east coast and the largest insurance-based Myofunctional practice nationwide. Along with her exceptional group of therapists, she supports families and children across Long Island and Queens, specializing in PROMPT, Myofunctional Therapy, Voice Disorders, Fluency, Augmentative Communications, Articulation, Auditory Processing Disorders and Expressive/Receptive Language Disorders (adults and children). Also offered is Feeding Therapy for individuals who suffer from texture and consistency aversions. There are 9 affiliated offices across Long Island, all participating with most major health insurance companies and offering flexible hours and scheduling, including evenings and Saturdays.
Janine is the Founder and CEO of Spot Pal, a tongue training appliance designed to teach proper lingual resting posture and support the elimination of a tongue thrust. It also discourages noxious oral habits including thumb/finger sucking, tongue sucking, nail-biting, and retains dental occlusion. Janine saw a missing piece in the world of Myofunctional Therapy and knew that Spot Pal was the answer.
